2. The buyer of a "By Owner" expects to pay less than the fair market value because they don't expect the services of the professional.
3. FSBO transactions often take longer to complete than agent-assisted sales.
4. You can't list your home in the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) that licensed real estate brokers and agents access every day, thus losing this important exposure.
5. Legal problems more often are a factor in FSBO transactions because of the lack of knowledge of the often complex disclosure requirements.
6. Buyers are often less comfortable dealing with a homeowner than with a professional agent acting as a go-between.
7. It's easy for a FSBO seller to incorrectly price a home, to either over- or under-price the property. Agents who deal with this market every day are more knowledgeable on what prices are appropriate and realistic for your area.
